This section is for builder's tips on extended your strake leading edge onto the door (typically of the SE body) for extra elbow room, yet maintaining the basic door safety latch mechanisms.

Here's another solution to the door-latch-with-large-strake-extension problem...used a set of aileron push pull cables and much of the original door hardware to work around the new opening- also uses flush-fit door latch (not shown)
