When latching the doors, I could almost feel when the pins had gone past the transition between the tapered and the straight sections because it was hard only to get them to that point. So I decided to mount the pins on my bench drill press and turn it on to progressively sand the transition area and smooth it out until finally polishing it with steel wool.
