General Description

A weave of E-glass (Electrical glass) the standard of the industry, both for marine and general aviation use. It is used throughout the construction. UNI is the short name for "Hexcel 7.2 ounce Uni-Directional" cloth, has strength fibers running in one direction. UNI is used at the factory in the molding of the outer fuselage skin. It is used by the builder in the winglets, winglet attachment, elevators and canard skin.

Velocity Use

Used in very special circumstances where a great deal of strength is needed in one direction, such as the front strake attachment to the carbon door beams.

Sold by the linear yard by the factory.

Directions for Use

Cut to length, apply epoxy, and apply to part.

Safety and Handling

When cutting, strands can become airborne - do not inhale them.
